RTR-50 for Windows Software Update Procedure

In the explanation where an (XXX) appears, the actual software version name and number will appear. Please read using the name and number of the appropriate software.

Important Notice before carrying out an Update

1. When carrying out the Update, please make sure to use an account which has Administrator Rights.

2. This program can only be run using either Windows XP (above SP 1), Windows Vista, or Windows 7. This program can not be run using any other platform (operating system) or any 64 bit version of the above mentioned operating systems.
We have discontinued support for Windows98, Windows Me. and Windows2000.
For Users with these operating systems, "RTR-50 for Windows (Win98/Me/2000) Ver 1.40" is the latest version that can be used.

3. If "RTR-50 for Windows" is running, please make sure to quit and close it before starting this update.

4. Carrying out this update will not delete already recorded data, but we strongly suggest making a back up copy of any necessary data before running this update program.

Updating Procedure

1. From our software download page, download the most recent version of "RTR-50 for Windows" and save it to your PC.

2. After downloading the Update Program, double click on the file [app_rtr50win-XXX-us.exe or app_rtr50win-XXX-eu.exe] to start the installation process.

3. Install the Update Program by following the instructions as they appear on the screen.

How to Confirm that the Update has been Successful

1. From the [Start] menu, select "RTR-50 for Windows" to run RTR-50 for Windows.

2. After RTR-50 for Windows is running, in the [Help] menu, select [RTR-50 for Windows Version Info].

3. The following Version Info window will appear.
If the version number which appears in the red box is the same as the one which you downloaded, the update was a success.

Troubleshooting

Q1: Will already recorded data and settings be saved?

A: When updating the application (deletion included) neither the already saved recorded data nor the settings are deleted, but we still strongly suggest making a back-up copy of any necessary recorded data.
If when updating, the application is installed into a different folder, the recorded data will also be saved to a different location in that folder.

Q2: If I don't have administrator rights to install software, what will happen?

A: It is necessary to have Administrator Rights to install this application into Windows. Please confirm that the User currently logged on has Administrator Rights to install software.

Q3: The Update Program quits during the installation, what is wrong?

A: It is more than likely that for some reason the update program is not running properly. Please try restarting Windows and installing and running the update program again.
