Illuminance UV Recorder for Windows Software Update Procedure

In the explanation where an (XXX) appears, the actual software version name and number will appear. Please read using the name and number of the appropriate software.
If you are using "Illuminance UV Recorder for Windows Ver1.00", please read "Important Notice about Changes Made to the Display of the Unit's Internal ID" as stated below on this page.

Important Notice before carrying out an Update

1. When carrying out the Update, please make sure to use an account which has Administrator Rights.

2. This program can only be run using either Windows XP (above SP2), Windows Vista, or Windows 7. This program can not be run using any other platform (operating system) or any 64 bit version of the above mentioned operating systems.

3. If "Illuminance UV Recorder for Windows" is running, please make sure to quit and close it before starting this update.

4. Carrying out this update will not delete already recorded data, but we strongly suggest making a back up copy of any necessary data before running this update program.

Updating Procedure

1. From our software download page, download the most recent version of "Illuminance UV Recorder for Windows" and save it to your PC.

2. Double click on the downloaded program [app_tr74uiwin-XXX-all.exe] to start the program.

3. The following window will appear. Follow directions as they appear to install the update program.

If the following window appears, select [Remove] to erase the current application.
After that restart the program by double clicking on [app_tr74uiwin-XXX-all.exe] again and follow directions as they appear.

How to Confirm that the Update has been Successful

1. This starts Illuminance Recorder for Windows.

2. In the [Help] Menu, select [Version Info].

3. The following Version Info window will appear.
If the version number which appears in the red box is the same as the one which you downloaded, the update was a success.

Important Notice about Changes Made to the Display of the Unit's Internal ID

If you had been using "Illuminance UV Recorder for Windows Ver. 1.00", after the update please confirm the following.
1. The "Internal Id" numbers used in File Names for downloaded data have been changed.
If under [File] Menu - [File Names and Folders] - [Default File Name Settings] the setting selected included the use of the Internal ID, the file name will be changed.

EX: If the Default File Name Setting is "Internal ID + Date/Time":
The File Name before the update appeared as 1409941517_20091202_112740.iur.
The File Name after the update will appear as 540A000D_20091202_112740.iur.

2. The Destination Folder needs to be re-set.
Under [File] Menu - [File Names and Folders] - [Saved Folder Settings], the settings will have been lost. Please re-make settings as desired.

Troubleshooting

Q1: Is the previously recorded data saved?

A: When updating the application (deletion included) the already recorded data is not deleted, but we still strongly suggest making a back-up copy of any necessary data.
(The recorded data can be checked at its saving location [File] - [File Names and Folders] - Saved Folder)

If when updating the application is installed into a different folder then the recorded data will also be saved to a different location in that folder.

Q2: If I don't have administrator rights to install software, what will happen?

A: It is necessary to have Administrator Rights to install this application into Windows. Please confirm that the User currently logged on has Administrator Rights to install software.

Q3: The Update Program quits during the installation, what is wrong?

A: It is more than likely that for some reason the update program is not running properly. Please try restarting Windows and installing and running the update program again.
